An August Noon

by Ray Bradbury

One day, you discover you are alive.
Explosion!
Concussion!
Illumination!
Delight!
You laugh,
you dance around,
you shout.
But, not long after,
the sun goes out.
Snow falls,
but no one sees it,
on an August noon.
