Cheesy Acorn Squash Recipe - Allrecipes.com

Heres a Cheesy Acorn Squash Recipe from @allrecipes. It's a nice change from traditional sweet acorn squash. This variation is supposed to be so great that people who dislike squash like this recipe. Reviewers suggest adding some garlic to the sauté. Substitution ideas include using sautéed apples and onions, topping with panko breadcrumbs, or bacon.

1707 Johann Julius Hecker was born—the German educator who founded practical secondary schools with gardens for hands-on botany, including mulberry plantations for silk production.

1759 James Edward Smith, founder and first president of the Linnean Society, was born; he famously purchased the entire Linnaeus collection in 1784.

1808 John Lewis Russell—botanist, Unitarian minister, and friend to Emerson and Thoreau—was born in Salem, Massachusetts.

1879 Ferdinand Jakob Lindheimer, the Father of Texas Botany, died after discovering hundreds of new species across Central and Southeast Texas.
