1902 Thomas “Tommy” Dolliver Church, California landscape architect, was born; he pioneered the California Style, blending outdoor living with timeless design.
1904 Cecil Day-Lewis, Irish-born British Poet Laureate and father of actor Daniel Day-Lewis, was born; his poems capture the fleeting seasons of life.
