On this day, Jerry Seinfeld was born. Known for finding humor in life’s tiniest absurdities, even flowers did not escape his notice.

He once joked about our fondness for gifting bouquets:

Why do people give each other flowers to celebrate various important occasions?

They’re killing living creatures?
Why restrict it to plants?

"Sweetheart, let’s make up. Have this deceased squirrel."

Gardeners may gasp—but then we laugh.

His words remind us that both bouquets and jokes are fleeting gifts: they bloom, fade, and leave us lighter for having shared them.
