There is No Time Like the Old Time
From Oliver Wendell Holmes
There is no time like the old time, when you and I were young,
When the buds of April blossomed and the birds of springtime sung!
Note: Today is the anniversary of the death of the American physician, poet, and humorist, Oliver Wendell Holmes, who died on this day in 1894.
Holmes was clearly a sentimentality as you can see from this excerpt about the "dear days" of his youth.
